1. Walk at least 20 to 40 minutes a day.
2. Reduce stress.
3. Get adequate sleep
4. Have a good diet plan, try cutting down anything white and follow a Low Card diet plan.
5. Take proper medication

You should definitely cut down on rice and wheat but include millets in your diet. Millets are great for diabetic patients.
